We can call the last decade as the fiber laser optics era. Almost all the devices that form part of our daily life rely of fiber optics technology. It was recently in the 70ís that fiber optics massive commercialization started worldwide and fiber optics became a technological specialization that demanded qualified training fiber optics. This technological is still in continuous fiber optics test equipment research development, especially by telecommunications companies which dream of a whole fiber optics network to assure the liability of their customers, cost reduction and process optimization and of course, the growth of their finances until a new technology arrives.

Fiber optics is a promising field, and it will be long for a considerable time; but there still persists the problem of making it available to great mass and the large infrastructures and the most faraway places. The challenge is here, and companies have decided to take it because the demand compels so: People want more speed, bandwidth and efficiency for fewer costs, and this is the fuel that makes run the research and development engine.
